Get me (to) the moon

Most people don't realize the true value of the moon. For them it’s something wolves howl at, or (some) humans get emotionaly affected by. But the secret value is hidden under the ice cap on the dark side of the moon.

The first steps

During the early ages of space exploration, human set foot on the moon.
Impressive from a technological point of view – but very unambitious from a shareholders standpoint.

The Moon is a treasure-trove of Helium-3 that can be found in the extremely cold, permanently shadowed areas of the Moon, such as in Shackleton crater at the Moon’s south pole. Helium-3 has significant value back on Earth, if used as fuel in a nuclear fusion reactor.

With depleting oil reserves, Helium-3 will surely become a significant lunar export for power generation around the world. To lower the cost on mining and transport, we plan to change the orbit of the Moon and bring it closer to Earth. This can be accomplished with a series of controlled nuclear explosions, changing the the Moon's trajectory. The side effects of flooding will of course be monetized as well.

Update:

During the last financial crisis, governments were desperate for money and we almost succeeded buying the rights to the Moon. But because of the catastrophic actions taken by the Obama administration and the EU, the financial crisis was deflected and global economy started to grow again. Thus stopped our attempt to buy the Moon. We have initiated actions on a global scale, to roll back the actions of the Obama administration and destabilize the EU. As a result we expect to see a new financial crisis within the next year.

Just going to the Moon is symbolic, at Znork we want to own the Moon.
